If you have a manuscript you want to get published, then you need to come to Publishing Day on Saturday 18th May 2024 to find out how. During a day of online workshops, you will hear from agents, editors, publishers, published authors and booksellers about how to get your work from manuscript to bookshelf.

The day is structured into short workshops:

  • 📚 Routes into publication⠀
  • 📚 The role of the agent and publisher
  • 📚 Writing an eye-catching synopsis ⠀
  • 📚 Crafting the perfect covering letter
  • 📚 What happens between a contract being signed and a book hitting the shelves?
  • 📚 The bookseller’s perspective

On the Sunday, if you’re a student or alumni of the Creative Writing Programme with a completed draft of a manuscript,  there’s an opportunity to have a one-to-one consultation with an agent about your work.

Our publishing day is the best way to network and understand the publishing process a little bit better. It's aimed primarily at students in the second year of the programme – and alumni – but first year students are also very welcome to attend.

Publishing Day costs just £35 while the agent consultations are £25. Agent consultations are only available for students and alumni and you must have a completed first draft of your manuscript.
