Dear all,

Our friends at Footnote Press have contacted me to let us know they are open for submissions for both fiction and non-fiction work. Vidisha Biswas, their director is keen to read work from our writers, so if you submit please be sure to mention you have taken the Creative Writing Programme. For more information on Footnote, go to

To submit work, go to https://footnotepress.com/submissions/

Footnote publishes books on migration, identity, separation, resistance, reclamation and beyond.

We’ll consider every submission that comes our way and are especially interested in submissions from writers of underrepresented identities.

What will you need?

Fiction:

A cover email with your contact details and description of the work - tell us why you think it's right for Footnote
A one-page bio, with your reasons and ambitions for this book and any previous writing or publishing experience
The entire manuscript or a sample of at least the first 20,000 words - both double-spaced
A detailed, concise synopsis of the book, max. 3 pages

Non-Fiction:

A cover email with your contact details and description of the work - tell us why you think it's right for Footnote
A one-page bio, with your reasons and ambitions for this book and any previous writing or publishing experience
A detailed synopsis of the book including a chapter-by-chapter breakdown (150-200 words per chapter)
Ideally 2+ sample chapters, or 2+ samples of your previous writing
